IN A NUT SHELL

The GovTech Accelerator, delivered by Creative HQ, is a highly regarded accelerator programme that assists local, central, and international government agencies in tackling some of our most complex challenges. Over the course of a 13-week sprint, Nomad Studios have supported a diverse range of public sector agencies, startups, NGOs, and organisations come together to develop innovative solutions that address local and national issues to deliver better outcomes for Aotearoa. Teams showcase their findings, learnings, and solutions in a final showcase, from which key projects and outcomes are compiled in an impact report, generating interest and enthusiasm for the following year's program.

THE CHALLENGE

Developing a pitch deck for the annual Innovation Showcase is a challenging task that GovTech Accelerator teams undertake. Over three months, teams conduct extensive research, testing, and development to synthesise their findings into a visually compelling and informative pitch that can be delivered in under five minutes. To achieve this, teams must prioritise key information, develop a cohesive visual identity that aligns with the message at hand, and showcase the impact of their projects on their community and beyond. This applies to all content, communications, and documentation produced on behalf of the GovTech Accelerator, which must highlight the program's outcomes and impact to support the long-term success of the programme

THE Solution

To effectively communicate the impact and value of the GovTech Accelerator, we carefully considered the needs, interests, and concerns of the audience being presented to. From this, we used a range of visual storytelling techniques, including static and animated graphics designed to help audiences understand the project’s kaupapa and highlight the findings of the projects presented. We also ensured that all visual materials align with consistent branding elements, specific to the project and organisation being represented. To maintain engagement with our partners, sponsors, and stakeholders for future programs, we produced the 2022 impact report. The report outlines the program's goals and values and effectively showcases the projects undertaken during the program.

THE OUTCOME

Nomad Studios curated custom graphics, layouts and animatics to suit the team, project and organisations presenting at the 2022 Innovation Showcase, held in Wellington’s iconic Beehive. Since then, the 2022 GovTech Accelerator Impact Report was produced, optimised for web to ease of navigation and environmentally conscious distribution.
