MEA, an acronym for 'Making Everything Achievable,' collaborates with partners to create tribal, digital, and creative solutions in communications and community development. Recognised for their expertise and passion for people, technology, and transformation, MEA sought the expertise of Nomad Studios to refresh their brand and amplify their brand story through design.
THEĀ CHALLENGE
The challenge was to create a visually striking and versatile logo for MEA that could be used across various media platforms. The main focus was to highlight the lettering of 'MEA' with an expanded letter mark and slogan below. The logo was to be designed in a way that was fluid, able to be constructed and deconstructed depending on its use case, as well as have the flexibility to incorporate possible sub-brands in the future. With a strong kÅrero around the MEA brand and founding story, the brand needed to acknowledge and represent the surrounding environment, the present work, and unique partners MEA works with, and also encapsulate the evergreen future of technology all while being intrinsically MÄori.
THEĀ Solution
Three variations of the MEA logo were produced to achieve a responsive design, allowing maximum versatility for the brand. With the continuation of MEA's existing colour pallet of Nomad Studios refreshed these colours to be bolder and richer and incorporated silver to add dimension to the overall corporate branding. As the main focus of this logo mark is the lettering of MEA, the corporate logo is presented through the use of colour, shape, and form. Each letter has its mana, showcased through strategic design alluding to maunga (mountains) and moana (water) and the growth of ideas to excellence. The MEA logo was designed to be bold and striking, yet with elements that cross over to represent co-creation. With a combination of three colours, this brand identity is visually strong in colouring and style, representing strength, partnership, and trust. Supporting this logo, we also developed corporate brand assets to enhance MEA's visual identity. These corporate brand assets act as elements that work in conjunction with their corporate logo, which people recognise and associate with the brand. A koru design element has been developed to use as a whole to brand elements such as print-based media and documentation or sectioned to use across smaller collateral such as business cards and digital platforms.
