Farm Gate Produce is a leading provider of high-quality, free-range produce, supplied to some of the top restaurants in New Zealand. With a seen shift in the way produce was positioned and sought after, Nomad Studios developed a new brand identity that truly captured Farm Gate's commitment to quality, sustainability, and ethical farming practices.

THE CHALLENGE
We were faced with the exciting yet challenging task of establishing a brand identity from scratch. As an established business with an operating farm in Houhora, we were presented with limitless possibilities and no predefined design constraints. The goal was to formalise the Farm Gate Produce brand while infusing simplicity and prestige into its overall aesthetic, suited to the higher-end restaurants' Farm Gate Produce supplies to. It was crucial to convey the superior living conditions and quality of life experienced by their free-range livestock while remaining true to the farm, the roots of the brand. The challenge lay in crafting a visually captivating brand that not only honoured the specialty and quality of their products but also radiated the energy and playfulness synonymous with the pigs' farm experience while ensuring the brand remained dynamic and engaging.

THE Solution
We initiated an extensive brand architecture process, conducting collaborative discovery sessions with Farm Gate Produce. Our aim was to gain a deep understanding of their market positioning and brand perception, both current and desired. Straying away from the conventional butcher or organic farm-style branding, we embraced a minimal yet timeless monochromatic colour palette that aligned with Farm Gate's core breed of Black Devon pigs. Through an iterative design approach, we crafted a refined and structured logo, utilising the FGP acronym as a striking representation of Farm Gate Produce. Additionally, we developed elegant silhouettes of black pigs design to be versatile brand graphics, serving as badges and icons that feature consistently across all Farm Gate communications, packaging and brand collateral.

THE OUTCOME
The Farm Gate Produce rebrand was executed through a comprehensive end-to-end process, delivered in multiple phases. Since 2022, the completed rebrand has included a captivating website design, seasonal email marketing templates, and a full collection of social media templates. As Farm Gate Produce continues to thrive, supplying renowned restaurants and specialty supermarkets, their aged beef and free-range pork can be conveniently ordered online or discovered at select Farmer's Markets in the Auckland region. Farm Gate Produce has since been featured as a supplier for Ahi restaurant through TVNZ’s NZ Food Story, and is proud to hold a Gold and a Bronze ‘Outstanding NZ Food Producers Award’ for their free-range pork and small goods.

Nomad Studios, took our very tired brand to the next level. I was just astounded that after a brief conversation explaining our business to Georgia, they totally understood what would work and what could visually and strategically set Farm Gate Produce apart from others in our space.
